Mr. Liu’s practice focuses on civil litigation, appellate advocacy, white collar defense, and internal investigations.
As assistant general counsel to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Mr. Liu spearheaded the Governor’s regulatory reform initiative. He worked with lawmakers, heads of agencies, and stakeholders on issues involving administrative law and occupational licensing. He also advised the Governor on requests for pardons and commutations.
Mr. Liu previously worked for a top litigation boutique in Houston and clerked for two federal appellate judges. In law school, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy.
Mr. Liu currently serves on the Executive Board of the Federalist Society’s Austin Lawyers Chapter. In 2019, he was honored as one of Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 for Law and Policy. In 2016, he was selected as a John Marshall Fellow by the Claremont Institute.
